Hi! I’m Dawn Marie. I began Maman Sucre in December 2013 when I was 8 months pregnant because I knew if I didn’t do it then, I probably never would. I made a few sales, had my baby, and did absolutely nothing else until September 2014. In the interim, my seemingly healthy mother unexpectedly died of a hemorrhagic stroke. I stroked my mother’s hair as she stopped breathing and clutched my 7 month old baby in my other arm.
At that moment, I realized how incredibly fragile life truly is and that it can be taken away with absolutely no warning. I decided that, since I have no guarantee of living into my eighties (or even my forties, for that matter), there is one thing besides my two daughters I want to leave this world with, and THAT is how Maman Sucre has come to be.
So, thank you for joining me here! Welcome to Maman Sucre, which is French for sugar mama. When your body is dragging and your soul needs a lift, try putting some sugar on your body rather than in it!
